Kaper Charts

A "Kaper Chart" is a Girl Scout tradition for dividing up troop responsibilities. Girl Scouts divide the jobs that need to be done and share the work. Each job is called a Kaper and the chart that shows which girls do a particular job is called a Kaper Chart. Every girl needs to have a turn doing all the duties that need to be done. An "It" and "Other" can with names on Popsicle sticks works well as a beginning way to allot duties. Using a Kaper system right from the start will help with the long-term group behavior management of a troop. To learn more about group management techniques, attend the Program Leadership training for the level you are working with and review the Leader's Guide for your level.
